Itinerary

You will be greeted upon your arrival at Mohammad V airport in Casablanca and will be escorted to your hotel. Overnight: Casablanca

After morning meal, we will have a half-day sightseeing tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. We will visit Hassan II Mosque (outside) - the largest mosque outside Mecca. Depart to Meknes, which was the capital city under the reign of Moulay Ismail. This city is famous for its 40 km long city walls that preserve the most beautiful gate of Morocco, Bab Al Mansour. We will also visit the Royal Stables which housed up to 12,000 horses of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Later we will continue to Fes via the holy city of Moulay Idriss where the founder of Islam in Morocco is buried; this town is famous for its green rooftops and offers one of the most picturesque views of Moroccan town life. On our way to Fez, we will also visit the roman city of Volubilis. Volubilis features the best preserved excavations in this part of northern Africa dating from the Roman Empire. In 1997 the site was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Later we will arrive to Fes and check-in to our Riad. Overnight: Fes

After morning meal, we will begin our full-day sightseeing tour of Fes, the most ancient city of the Imperials, founded by Idris I (789) and his son Moulay Idris II (810). We will visit the medieval Medina with its Medersas (religious Islamic universities) Attarine and Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque. After our (optional) local midday meal we will continue to Fes Jdid (new Fes), and return to our Riad. Overnight: Fes

After morning meal depart to the imperial city of Rabat; the administrative capital city of the Kingdom. We will see Mechouar (ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the fortified Oudaya Kasbah, the marvelous Mohamed V mausoleum, and Hassan Tower. We will check in to our hotel in Rabat overnight. Overnight: Rabat

After morning meal, we will depart to Marrakech. Marrakech was once the capital of an empire that stretched from Toledo, Spain, to Senegal. Also known as the ―Red City‖ or ―Pink City‖ due to the distinctive hue of the local earth used in the construction of its many brick buildings, Marrakech is a city of labyrinthine alleyways, secluded palaces, museums, mosques, and markets. Overnight: Marrakech

After morning meal, we will begin our full-day sightseeing tour of Marrakech, the second-largest city in Morocco also known as the pearl of the south. Today we will visit the 16th century Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and Koutoubia Minaret. Afternoon we will visit the Djemaa El Fna square, which by day is a marketplace but at night is a place of non-stop entertainment; this area is great for bargain hunt in the souks and handicraft shops of Marrakech. Overnight: Marrakech

Continue exploring Marrakech, starting by visiting the beautiful gardens dotting the city. One of the most lovely is the Menara Gardens, which date to the twelfth century and are set among extensive orchards and olive groves. At their center is a rectangular pool with a fabulous view of the Atlas Mountains. From here, continue to Majorelle Garden, originally designed in 1924 by French artist Jacques Majorelle and now owned by famous couture designer Yves Saint Laurent. Marvel at the garden‘s exotic plants, such as bamboo, cacti, bougainvillea, and palms, and take in the tranquil streams and fish-filled pools peppered throughout. The rest of your day is at leisure, perhaps for last-minute shopping or sightseeing at your own pace Overnight: Marrakech

Transfer to Marrakech airport for a flight back home. Guests who have a flight from Casablanca airport can be transferred to Casablanca with a US$100 per person supplement.
