Upon your arrival at Casablanca Airport, your tour driver will be waiting to transport you directly to your accommodation in Casablanca, ensuring a hassle-free start to your trip and allowing you to relax and enjoy the journey at your accommodation. Sit back, soak in the surroundings, and get ready to experience an unforgettable tour. Overnight stay in Casablanca.
After morning meal, we will begin our journey towards the mountains, stopping in Rabat and taking in the beautiful Atlantic coastline over midday meal. We will then continue to Chefchaouen as we ascend into the towering Rif Mountains - a dramatic entrance to the vividly blue-colored town of Chefchaouen set like a sapphire stone among the jagged mountain peaks. Once you are settled in the night's Riad, you will have some time to walk among the blue and white walls of the medina and explore the unique local crafts markets. With a unique aesthetic framed by an unforgettable view of the mountains, Chefchaouen is a one-of-a-kind destination for photographers.
On this day, we will have an excursion to Akchour Waterfalls, known for its natural beauty and cascading waterfalls. As we hike along scenic trails, surrounded by lush greenery and rugged terrain, you'll be captivated by the mesmerizing sights and sounds of the cascading waterfalls that await us. Feel the refreshing mist on your face as you stand in awe of nature's power and beauty. Take in the tranquility of the surroundings, listen to the soothing sound of rushing water, and breathe in the fresh mountain air. During the excursion, there will be opportunities to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Take a dip in the crystal-clear pools beneath the waterfalls, or find a peaceful spot to sit and appreciate the natural wonders surrounding you. Our knowledgeable guide will be there to provide insights into the area's local flora, fauna, and cultural significance. We will drive back to Chefchaouen for the overnight stay.
After morning meal, we will continue our journey to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. This essential Roman town features gorgeous mosaics that give you a unique perspective on Morocco's ancient history. We will also visit the nearby town of Moulay Idriss, where Moulay Idriss I, who brought Islam to Morocco, is interred. Moulay Idriss is considered to be the holiest town in Morocco. From Moulay Idriss, we will continue to Meknes, often called the "Versailles of Morocco" due to the grandeur and intricacy of its buildings and monuments. We will take some time to explore its highlights, including the massive Bab Mansour Gate, the old Medina, and Moulay Ismail's shrine. From Meknes, we will continue to Fes for the overnight stay.
Following morning meal at the hotel, our accredited local guide will accompany you on a walking tour of the Fes Medina. Step back in time as you wander through the labyrinth of twisting alleyways - donkeys and mules pass through the narrow streets, savor the aromas from the market stalls where countless spices and perfumes are traded, and explore the leather tanneries where men treat leather using century-old techniques. We’ll cap the day with dinner at one of the many local restaurants of the medina, then settle in for the evening at your hotel.
Our journey from Fes to Ifrane takes us through hills covered in cork oak and giant cedar forests, where a small group of Barbary apes still reside. We'll travel through the Middle and High Atlas ranges to glimpse Southern Morocco's unique architectural style. We'll stop for midday meal and take in the stunning view of the High Atlas peaks behind the town of Midelt. As we make our way down to the desert plains, the scenery changes from mountain peaks to an expansive oasis dotted with many Ksours (fortified villages), leading to a vast stony plain that marks the edge of the Sahara. Once we reach the dunes, you'll be invited to a charming Kasbah, where you will stay overnight.
Watching the sunrise amongst the dunes is a magical experience and not to be missed. Your morning meal will be waiting for you upon your return, after which you will have the opportunity to visit the nomadic communities around Merzouga, stopping for tea in the souks and enjoying the traditional Gnawa music. As the mid-day sun wanes, we will mount our camels and trek into the pink sands of the Moroccan Sahara; here, we will have ample free time for you to explore and take in the beauty and vastness of the desert dunes. Once the sun sets, a Moroccan dinner will be served alongside live music around the base campfire, after which you are free to explore again - this time in the company of a million stars exploding against the pitch-black sky and the all-encompassing silence of the Sahara at night.
If you would like, our team can wake you up early to experience the stunning desert sunrise. The sand's color contrasts beautifully with the shadows on the dunes. After morning meal, head towards the Todra Gorge, "Morocco's Grand Canyon." After midday meal, we stroll through the valley to admire the view. Eventually, we will reach the Dades Gorge, where we will watch the orange glow of the sunset against the rocks before enjoying dinner and spending the night at our hotel.
We'll take the usual path to the rugged and beautiful high Atlas mountains this morning. We'll meet a Berber nomad family there and share tea in their tents while taking a short hike above the valley ridge. We'll visit the traditional and unique Berber troglodyte villages and explore the historical villages of Dades Gorge. Our overnight stay will be in Boumalne Dades.
After morning meal, drive to Marrakech through Ouarzazate, visiting Atlas Studio, where imagination runs free, discovering the hidden stories of the movie-making world.
We also visit the 17th-century kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a great example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture and a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. Ait Ben Haddou is a historical site along the former caravan route between the desert and Marrakech. The drive continues via Tishka Pass, reaching an altitude of 2260m.
Free time and overnight stay in Marrakech.
Breakfast will be served at your Riad, after which a knowledgeable local guide will lead you through the labyrinth of Marrakech's winding alleyways, hidden gardens, and secret souks. You will continue to the Djemaa el Fna, the principal cultural space in Marrakech and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, beside which the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque can be seen towering into the sky. In the evening, this square overflows with food stalls, dancers, acrobats, fortune tellers, musicians, and henna artists. Following your tour, you will have free time, whether pampering at a local spa with a massage or further exploring the medina's souks. We will spend the night at our hotel in Marrakech.
After having morning meal, we will embark on a journey through valleys brimming with orange groves, ancient olive trees, and argan oil cooperatives and arrive at Essaouira, a charming coastal town. With its old walled medina, this windswept fishing port has remained a popular vacation city for Moroccans. Not only that, but Essaouira is also a creative center where many of the country's wood carvers and artists have settled, and it hosts the Gnaouas Music Festival every June. Take a stroll along the ramparts and beach, soak up the calming atmosphere of the lively medina, or visit the port to sample the fresh catch of the day. Overnight stay in Essaouira.
Breakfast is served at your riad, and it's time to explore Essaouria at your leisure. Meet local artists in their studios, browse their artwork, or head to the lively fish market for a savory midday meal of fresh grilled fish caught just this morning. A short walk along the beach at low tide reveals the crumbling ruins of the fort of Borj El Barod, and a boat ride to the island of Mogador offers glimpses of the rare Eleanora's falcon. Should you fancy watersports, you may even want to try one of the many offered on the popular local beaches, including surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking. If you are feeling somewhat tired from your travels, Essaouira is a perfect place to recoup - sit in one of the many beachside cafes on Place Moulay Hassan, relax, and watch the waves roll in with a mint tea and a Moroccan pastry.
On this final day of your Moroccan adventure, we will leave Essaouira and journey back to the bustling city of Casablanca, continuing up the coastline through quiet coastal towns to El Jadida, where we may pay a visit to the citadel and be able to see the underground cistern. Overnight stay in Casablanca.
We'll assist you with all your departure formalities and make sure your pick-up services are taken care of as we bid farewell.
