Arrive at Marrakech airport. Transfer to your hotel where you will receive a warm welcome with mint tea and an explanation of the tour itinerary and city map. Depending on your arrival time, you have the afternoon free for a self-guided walk around the city to explore the myriad of winding streets and their magnificent souks. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Today we’ll have a guided tour of Marrakech. You'll explore the main attractions and monuments of the city including the world famous Jemma el Fna square, 800 year old Koutoubia mosque, the souks, palaces, and museums. We’ll also explore parts of the city such as French Colonial Gueliz, and the Menara Gardens. Another highlight is the Majorelle Gardens, house and museum. Owned until his death and then preserved, Yves Saint Laurent lived here and escaped the pressures of the world. After midday meal at a local restaurant, you’ll get the chance to explore this incredibly vibrant city at your leisure.
Our day trip begins by traveling through the Ourika Valley at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. As you enter the valley, you will be served morning meal in a traditional Berber house. Here, you will have the chance to sit and enjoy traditional food and mint tea with the local families. There is also an opportunity to learn about the lives of these indigenous people of North Africa. You can engage in conversations about their way of life and learn how to make tea in the best traditional way.
After a nourishing and delightful morning meal, the journey continues with a camel ride. You will enjoy the beautiful landscape as we approach the mountains. As you travel, the scenic views will captivate you as you wander through the authentic historical Berber villages. The journey will then take us to Imlil, a village thousands of meters above sea level that attracts many travelers due to its trekking activities. The most famous trek is to the highest peak in North Africa, Jebel Toubkal (4167m altitude). Here, you will be greeted by mules and a local guide. Traditional mint tea will be served after midday meal. The mules will be ready to take you on a trek through the stunning mountain range. The final destination of your trek will be the famous waterfalls in the region. Lunch will be served in a traditional local Berber house with a Berber family.
After a fun and exciting afternoon in Imlil, the journey continues to Lalla Takerkoust. Here, you can enjoy a quad biking activity, or if you are a fan of extreme sports, paragliding is another option to end your day. After a fun and enjoyable day out, your return to Marrakech is planned for the early evening.
Departing Marrakech after morning meal, we make our way through lush valleys filled with orange groves, ancient olive trees, and argan oil cooperatives to the quaint seaside town of Essaouira. This windswept fishing port with its broad beaches and an ancient walled medina, has long been a popular vacation destination for Moroccans. It is also a creative hub where many of the country's wood carvers and artists have made their home, and each year, hosts the Gnaouas Music Festival in the month of June. Stroll along the ramparts and beach as you take in the relaxed vibe of its small but lively medina, or visit the port to savour the catch of the day. Drive back to your accommodation in Marrakech.
As we bid you farewell, we will help you with any departure formalities and arrange for your transfers to the airport. We hope you enjoyed your journey with us, and hope to see you again soon.
