MOROCCO ROAMER
Pickup from Tangier port or airport to visit Tangier (depending on your arrival). Tangier, the whitewashed hillside medina, is home to the Dar el Makhzen, a palace of the Sultans that's now a museum of Moroccan artifacts. The American Legation Museum, also in the medina, documents new diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Morocco in an 1821 Moorish-style former consulate. We will also visit Hercules caves shaped in the African continent. In this cavern, Hercules allegedly rested during his labor with an opening in the shape of the African continent, as well as the 1000ft site above sea level at the entrance of the strait of Gibraltar. The visit also includes the Kasbah museum which used to be the house of the former sultan's palace of Dar El Makhzen from prehistoric times to the 19th century enjoying the charming Andalusian garden. The final stop is Chefchaouen, the blue-washed buildings of its old town. It is known for its shady main square of Place Outa el Hammam which is the red-walled Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon, the Ethnographic Museum, and the octagonal minaret nearby. Free time and overnight stay in Chefchaouen.
